In the province of Toledo there are more than 400 farms. In a radius of 50 km from the municipality of Mascaraque there are 44 municipalities with more than 130 head of cattle farms that annually generate more than ONE MILLION tons of manure, currently considered a by-product of little economic value. There are also other farms of various species that generate manure suitable for recovery in the plant.


The municipality has a valve station for the natural gas transportation network from which several branches depart, thus admitting all the planned production.

We will have suitable land attached to the referred valve station. Or in other plots attached to the passage of the gas pipeline, we have a purchase option.


We also have mature technology to produce biomethane, as well as digestates for fertilizer production, and the ability to recover collected CO2 from biogas upgrading.

At the end of 2019, of the 18,202 biogas plants in Europe, 610 were producing biomethane with an energy production of around 30,000 GWh / year.


Today we have LOI with farmers through their associations and with agricultural waste managers for long-term supply of fixed price fertilizers.

As for the straw, it is deteriorated straw, we anticipate a significant storage of it, since the prices can vary considerably depending on the climate.



As the main product of digestion we will obtain biogas with a predicted richness of more than 52% methane. To obtain biomethane suitable for injection in the transport network, this biogas will be purified.

As second-rank products we obtain solid and liquid digestates, which can be used as an agricultural amendment and / or as a base for the production of solid organic fertilizers, liquid organic fertilizers (suitable for fertigation), such as microalgae, growing medium, etc.

A third product is CO2, suitable for the production of refrigerants, carbonated beverages, carbonic fertigation, etc. Other products are mineral fertilizers such as struvite, ammonium, sulfate, etc.


To obtain the aforementioned biomethane and digestate products for fertilizers, it is necessary to subject the by-products farm manure and cereal straw first in an anaerobic digestion process; then to a biogas filtering and digestate separation process respectively.

For the first anaerobic digestion step, given the degree of humidity of the by-products to be treated, 66%, we understand semi-dry digestion as the most appropriate, since with this, we significantly reduce the volume of the digesters and, consequently, the investment.
